Our very experienced staff, many of whom have been supporting OEM customers with hydraulic solutions for over 20 years, are available to support you and your team in everything from product selection and alternatives to on-site assistance. 

​To aid your production and safety activities we provide on- and off-site training to your teams through our approved training academy, and we will also work with your design engineers, in the development and prototyping phase, to identify the best fluid transfer solution for your application.

We offer a variety of solutions to maximise efficiency and provide resource flexibility.  This includes various inventory management options, as well as the ability for us to produce anything from fully labelled kits right through to contract assembly, where we will build your sub-assemblies, including free-issue parts where appropriate, allowing you to simply plug them into your builds.  As an extension of inventory management, you can if you wish, outsource some or all of your purchasing activities to our dedicated buying team.

Looking after the health and safety of your staff, complying with HSE requirements, ensuring the functionality and safety-in-use of your products and meeting your product liability insurance requirements is a big responsibility.
 
Ensuring that all staff involved in safety critical hydraulic activities are adequately trained is an area where we can help.  With over 40 years of practical experience in all aspects of fluid power we are well placed to provide practical guidance and training to your teams.

We offer a wide range of courses and support at our training academy in the Midlands, or on your site;

• Hydraulic Foundation Course (British Fluid Power Assocation) – for all staff using or assembling hydraulic hoses or equipment
• Parker Hannifin Parkrimp® or Karrykrimp ® operation courses – practical use and setting for all hose assembly staff
• Hydraulic Fitting Identification – for all hose assembly or installation staff

Assistance and consultancy in

Prototyping and development

As you develop the next generation of your products, we are there to help with all the hydraulic aspects.  We can provide support and guidance on the most cost effective and fit-for-purpose solutions for hose and pipe runs, clamping, jointing and assembly solutions, as well as the wider hydraulic systems of cylinders, filters, valves and pumps.

We can manufacture prototype hose assemblies and kits at our facilities or provide one of our mobile hose assembly workshop vans, operated by an experienced hydraulic engineer, to attend your site.  They will work with your engineers to develop the best hose solution, optimising for minimal leak paths, suitable bend radii to meet the geometry of your machine, and ease of fitting once you enter production readiness.  Where rigid tube is the best solution, they can also arrange for that option.

Inventory management

​It is a core aspect of our business to hold the right stock so that we can always meet your requirements.  With 150 years experience, but constantly refining our techniques, we offer world-class supply reliability.  We operate sophisticated algorithms to manage component inventory levels on a dynamic basis, constantly updated to reflect demand variability and manufacturer lead times.

​Allocated stock levels
If you have consistent usage patterns or can provide forward schedules then we can ringfence inventory to your production to give you added security of supply availability.  We can also pre-build against forward call-off orders, allowing you maximum flexibility to manage your production scheduling.  Coupled with free next day delivery you can be confident that your supply chain is assured.

On-site stock management
We also provide a variety of flexible on-site inventory solutions.  These can apply to adaptors, hose reels and fittings, or to regularly used hose assemblies themselves, as well as other items such as clamps, fasteners, hydraulic oil, gloves or other industrial consumables.

• bin-fill/top-up/line-side replenishment - Lister staff will check and maintain your stock, enabling your staff to have more time for productivity.
• consignment stocks - you will be invoiced once the product is consumed, buffer levels minimise stock-outs
• implant staff (full/part-time Lister staff) - with on-site advice/support and constant organisation of stock and confirmed inventory levels.

Lister has more than 50 customers utilising our service in this way.  Every implementation is slightly different and is tailored to your specific needs.

On-site hose assembly production
​If it suits your needs to manufacture some or all of your hose assemblies within your own facility we can provide on-site crimping machines, and full BFPA accredited training.

Contract assembly

Speed of response to your customers and fast, efficient build times are likely to be some of the capabilities that set you apart from your competitors.  By outsourcing any sub-assemblies, so that you can focus on rapid in-factory builds, you can strengthen your competitive advantage.

Let us take care of any modular builds based around hydraulic systems.  This could be as simple as hose assembly or tube kits, with or without fixing or restraint systems, through to complex pre-built or pre-configured hydraulic sub-systems such as slice directional control valves and hydraulic cylinder assemblies.  We can integrate non-hydraulic components either free-issued by you, or we can also take on the sourcing of such items as part of our Outsourced Purchasing offer.

Outsourced purchasing

The Lister group has been supplying the manufacturing industry with engineering consumables, tools and components for almost 150 years.  We have the knowledge and experience to manage customers’ purchasing needs across a wide range of hydraulic and related engineering sectors.

To simplify your supply chain, and allow you to focus on what you are best at, Lister is the perfect partner.

As part of an assembly or supply agreement, we can source most engineering related items to your specifications, or from your existing suppliers, and handle the buying activity on your behalf.  We hold bills of material under engineering change control to allow you to order parts kits and receive the relevant components, or pre-built sub-assemblies, with consolidated invoicing to meet your needs.

We can also support all your requirements for tools, fasteners, oils, work and safety wear, as well as facility management and cleaning materials.
